Lambapalooza '26!
...and baby goats, too
Eighteen lambs were born at Magpie Hollow this spring, and that’s a record!
Here are some photos of lambs born since our last newsletter installment during the big winter storm of January-February.
And as of last weekend we have four new baby goats!
Congrats to all these mamas! Many of them are first-time mamas.
This little doeling was born by C section. So far her and mama are doing well, despite the medical trauma. Another “W” for Dr. Rachael…
We finished shearing the Shetlands and have started sending groups out for rotational grazing. It’s been a really dry April so the grass has a slow start this year.
Where can I buy Magpie Hollow Farm products?
This year we are focusing on lamb and duck eggs. We do still have ground pork available, as well as a few rabbits. And other seasonal produce such as lavender bundles and garden/orchard surpluses, and our famous pet beds stuffed with sheep’s wool.
We sell on-farm by appointment: call or text Josh at 336 902 2543.
You can also catch us at the Downtown Hickory Farmers’ Market every Saturday from 8 AM to 1 PM.
Also - Saunders & Sons Grocery near Statesville carries our lamb and duck eggs.
